If you’re driving a Golf, Polo, Tiguan or Transporter, chances are you didn’t buy it to spend a fortune keeping it on the road. That’s exactly why most of our VW customers end up here, we’re a Sheffield garage running the same dealer diagnostic kit as the main dealer, with technicians trained to VW Master Tech level, but without the dealer overheads pushing the price up.
On average, that means around a third off what you’d pay at a VW dealership for servicing, and your digital service record still gets updated properly, so it won’t come back to bite you at resale. We’ve also got a free courtesy car ready for when you drop the keys off, and if a bigger bill comes up unexpectedly, we can spread it over an interest-free plan rather than you having to find it all in one go.

A lot of VWs that come through our doors have a fairly familiar set of symptoms, no power when you put your foot down, the car not starting first thing, or the dreaded orange engine light staring back at you on the dash. Because we’re running proper VW diagnostic software rather than a generic scanner, we can usually tell you what’s actually wrong rather than just clearing the code and hoping it doesn’t come back.
DPF and EGR faults come up a lot too, particularly on the diesel models that have done a lot of short journeys around town. Once we know what we’re dealing with, you’ll get a straight answer on cost before we touch anything.

There are two ways to go here. If your car’s newer, or you’ve kept up a full-service history, Dealer Level Servicing is the one to pick, it follows exactly what VW recommend, keeps your warranty intact, and comes with our own 12-month parts and labour cover on top. If your car’s a bit older and you’re not too bothered about a stamped dealer history, Fixed Price Servicing does the job just as well using quality matched parts, at a lower cost, though it won’t reset the service light or update your digital record in the same way.
Either way, we’ll talk you through which makes more sense for your car rather than just pushing the pricier option.

Clutch and DSG gearbox work makes up a good chunk of what we do on VWs, along with timing chain replacement on the engines known for stretching over time, and turbo faults on the TDI models. Haldex servicing and brake work are routine for us too, so if your brakes have started squealing or the pedal feels a bit off, that’s usually a quick and inexpensive fix rather than anything to worry about.
We cover the full VW range, from the small stuff like the Up! and Polo, through Golf, Passat and Tiguan, right up to the Transporter vans that a lot of local tradespeople rely on. NOx sensor faults and emissions-related warning lights are another area we deal with regularly, including the software updates that sometimes go with them.

We can work on all models of Volkswagen, new or used, electric, hybrid, petrol or diesel. If you’ve got any of the VW models listed below, speak to our team and book your car at Sheffield’s award winning German car specialist garage.
